Climate Change, pollution, wars, food crisis, epidemic….what happening on this planet forebodes the depletion and devastation of the human living environment. Thus, humans begin to explore new technology, resources, or even a favorable human habitation from outer space.

A fortuitous discovery exposing the clues of StarGate - A Stargate is a bridge portal device that allows practical, rapid travel between two distant locations, within the unknown universe, which indicates the new and only possibility for mankind. However, the codes to dial specific Stargates are yet to be addressed. The secret of StarGate for decades, hidden on every planet. The elements of every planet contain a significant revelation of the codes of StarGate. 
Time to embark on The New Mission StarGate Journey, to figure out and to innovate for saving the future of the earth. In this journey, you will fly your state-of-the-art spaceship and travel among the planets, going through the highlights encompassing brainstorming & defining problems, CubeSat Challenge, Storytelling, Mentor roundtable, and pitching.

Learning Objectives:


The key objective of Mission Stargate is for the students to arouse their curiosity and interest in Business and Design subjects, using the context of Space and Space Narratives as a platform.

Immersive Learning Experience:

This is an exciting learning journey!
A team of 4-5, acting as explorers and pioneers, are given fun problems to solve. Through the 3 weeks of online journey, they have to turn their learning into a final presentation to an audience of experts.

The outstanding teams will be known publicly as HK’s 1st Astro Winning School Team and team members will have opportunities to become space cadets in OASA.


Expected Learning Outcomes:

Upon active participation, students should 
1. Understand the basics of Design and Business and the New Space economy;
2. Get a taste of the power of problem-solving, and creativity. thinking, and presentation;
3. Communicate to others what they have found from their analyses.

Dr. Gregg Li

professor of Space entrepreneurship
Dr. Gregg has been a futurist and disrupter, a serial entrepreneur and a coach to startups, a professor of Space entrepreneurship, a governance consultant to MNCs and family businesses, and most importantly, a developer and investor in young leaders. Many of his students and mentees are now leading global firms from McKinsey to Microsoft to Huawei. Having worked with, personally coached, and mentored high-flyers with global players such as Aon, American Express, Citibank, IBM, and PWC, he is now retired and teaching corporate governance, innovation, and entrepreneurship at various universities. He is proud to say that a few of his hundred-plus mentees are now partners at leading consulting firms, global heads at MNCs, and founders of startups. They have been co-travelers on this journey of discovery, and many are now changing the world for the better. Gregg is currently the founding Chairman of the Orion Astropreneur Space Academy, or OASA, and an advisor to a dozen think tanks and universities. Gregg is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, UCLA, Warwick, HKU, and Hawaii.

Prof. Quentin Parker

Astrophysicist Professor
Professor Quentin A Parker, Ph.D., BSc (Hons), FRAS, FASA. Quentin Parker obtained a Ph.D. from the University of St. Andrews in 1986 and joined the faculty at the University of Hong Kong in March 2015 to take up the Headship of the Department of Physics. In 2017 he became Associate Dean (Global) of the Faculty of Science and Director of the Laboratory for Space Research (see https://www.lsr.hku.hk/). Research activities are mainly associated with Wide Field Astronomy, large-scale redshift surveys, Galactic Archaeology, supernova remnants, and especially Planetary Nebulae where he has discovered more Planetary Nebulae (PNe) than anyone in the history of the field. He has also extensive experience as an instrumentalist with multi-object fiber-optic spectrographs and narrow-band filters.  He has published more than 574 papers and articles of which 281 are refereed and has more than 19950 citations and an h-index of 65. He has supervised and co-supervised a significant number of Ph.D., MSc, and honors students to successful completion. Quentin also has a long-term interest in Chinese Bronze artifacts and cultural heritage, interdisciplinary studies, and science pedagogy.

Mr. Paul Ko 

Mechanical Engineer
Mr. Paul Ko was a satellite manufacturing engineer and worked on over 15+ GEO commercial satellites from various global satellite operators.  His roles included the production, manufacture, and testing of satellites and subsystems, from assembly integration to the launch support phase.

Mr. Thomas Wong

entrepreneur
Mr. Thomas Wong has founded 5 companies for more than 10 years, including the car-sharing platform, the self-portrait store, the A.I. company, and the current training and recruitment platform. He is also a User Experience Designer (UX) and a certified LEGO SERIOUS PLAY instructor (LEGO SERIOUS PLAY). 

Mr. Perry Lam

Executive Coach
Mr. Perry Lam is an Executive Coach, Business Storyteller, Astropreneur, and Founder of the LAM (Leadership & Advanced Management) Institute based in Hong Kong. Perry regularly works with CEOs, Board of Directors, and Business Leaders of Fortune 500 Corporations, Government Organizations, NGOs, and start-ups specializing in working with the C-Suite.
